“Follow the Recipe”
Deuteronomy 28:9-14
Rev. Dr. Jonathan Jeffries

The Bible is one of the important foundations in our journey of life and faith – For average cooks it is important to follow the recipe. When we follow the recipe things usually go pretty well and things tend to at least be edible. When we fail to follow the recipe the results can be challenging at best. In our walk of life and faith, God has given us the recipe for success and abundant life – the Bible. When we follow it we experience the blessings of obedience, when we fail to follow God’s word, life becomes more challenging. May God’s word be one of the firm foundations for our lives.

Solid faith foundations provide us with strength and stability as we navigate the challenges and successes in our journey of life and faith, support us against the ways of the world, and help us as we answer God’s call to build up the church and God’s Kingdom.

We are excited to welcome our new Pianist, Michael Gardo! He will showcase his talents at the end of our LiveStream and will be with us as we come back on campus for 11am worship on August 2nd! (Get your seat reserved!)
Get to know Michael more in his Staff Bio!

Join in for some corporate prayer time facilitated by Katie Rawson and Sharon Moore as we pray together for Asbury Church: the staff, leadership, programs, and members.
Join us via Zoom on First Sundays (Starting August 2) at 5:30pm at asburyraleigh.org/sundayprayer

Back-To-Campus Plan Changes to Indoor Worship Schedule

We have made a prayerful shift in the schedule of our indoor worship events in August. With an abundance of caution, and being aware of the shift in numbers in our area, Asbury will begin on August 2nd with ONE indoor worship opportunity at 11:00am for our Traditional Worship experience. We have chosen this service to allow a worship style that was under-represented during our time apart to resume as soon as possible and starting with one service in our smaller worship space will allow us to test our procedures for indoor ticketing, check in, and seating before adding additional people. We also are in need of additional volunteers to make all three services possible. Please see “First Impressions” announcement below to help.

On August 2, our 8:30am Outdoor and our 9:30am LiveStream will continue as they have been in weeks past. Both on-campus services will have communion served in individual, sealed containers (all pre-sealed containers will contain wheat, but we will have some gluten-free available which are packaged by Asbury volunteers). These will be picked up as you arrive in worship and trashcans will be available as you exit. Reservations for August 2nd at 11am are available now via Eventbrite. We have about 20 spots left. If you have trouble with EventBrite, e-mail jen@asburyraleigh.org.

We will continue to update our website and Facebook with any changes as well as continue to communicate via eBulletin every week.  For further details and timelines, check online at: http://asburyraleigh.org/backtocampus

First Impressions Training for On-Campus Worship: Ushers, Greeters, and Welcome Team

As we come back to campus, many things will be different. There will be a training for all of our “First Impressions” Sunday morning volunteers: Ushers, Greeters, and Welcome Team will all be united together as we come back to campus. We ask that all current volunteers and anyone willing to lend a much-needed hand attend one of two training sessions in the North Worship Center at 6:30pm on July 21st or 27th.

Questions? Willing to lend a hand? Contact our head usher, Kevin Sommers, at Somm4661@bellsouth.net

If you can press a button, you can serve with the LiveStream Team! Throughout COVID, we have had dedicated people serving to help the LiveStream happen. We are in need of at least 3 more volunteers to help continue this important ministry in the months ahead. Those helping are never on their own – a Tech Team member or staff person is always in the room with you to help. Open to anyone age 13 and up – Technology is a great skill and resume builder for youth or college. Interested in learning more?
