Fall Update from Pastor Jonathan

Fall Update from Pastor Jonathan

Dear Asbury Church family,

Thank you for the way you have welcomed my family and me to Asbury.  I look forward to what God has in store for us in the weeks, months, and years ahead as we walk alongside one another in this journey of life and faith.  These are unprecedented times and it has been a strange phenomenon beginning my journey with you through our online service.  I hope and pray that God will continue to open doors for us to have more opportunities to connect this fall and that He will bless us even though we are challenged by this difficult season.

Even with the challenges we are experiencing, I thank God for the blessings that have occurred in this season.  It has been great to connect with many of you through our Meet and Greets.  While we followed social distancing guidelines, it was nice to meet some of you face-to-face and to begin to hear Asbury’s story and your hopes and dreams for the future as we seek to build God’s Kingdom together.  Last week, I shared some of what I gathered during these times together and where I feel God may be leading us in the next two years.  I look forward to seeing what God has in store for Asbury as we grow together and seek to reach the lost and the least of this world.

I am also thankful that we are slowly, carefully, and intentionally beginning to hold indoor worship services on our campus.  We are currently worshipping together in person on Sundays:

Indoor seating is limited due to social distancing, so please reserve your seat each week.  I look forward to meeting more of you as we are able to worship again.

Our Preschool, Student Ministry, Scouts, and LifeGroups will also begin to meet for the fall.  We will also host a Rise Against Hunger meal packaging event on Saturday, September 12.  While these events will look and feel different in this season, it will be good to gather together to grow in life and faith.  Look for a couple of Zoom studies and small group opportunities as well.  For more information, please check our eBulletin that goes out every Friday afternoon.

As we navigate the waters of the coronavirus and find different ways to connect and worship, my family and I look forward to getting to know you and walking alongside you as we grow in faith and serve our God.

Thank you again for your warm welcome!  Please keep our church and staff in your thoughts and prayers.  If we can do anything for you, please contact the church office.  If you would like to connect with me, please contact me .  May God bless you and your family in these challenging times as we look to God for direction, hope, and peace!

In His Service,
Pastor Jonathan
