Holy Week is very special here at Asbury Church and we are honoring the week in several different ways. Check out our schedule below…
Palm Sunday – March 25, 2018 | 9:30 AM Contemporary Service (Asbury North) | 11:00 AM Traditional Service (Asbury South)
Palm Sunday, which immediately precedes Easter Sunday, commemorates the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and begins the series of observances focusing on the events of Holy Week. This Sunday is also often referred to as Passion Sunday, marking the beginning of the passion or suffering of Jesus leading to and including the crucifixion. Join us on March 25 – everyone will receive a symbolic palm.
Maundy Thursday – March 29, 2018 | Last Supper Performance at 6:30 PM (Asbury South)
Maundy Thursday is an alternate name for Holy Thursday, the first of the three days of solemn remembrance of the events leading up to and immediately following the crucifixion of Jesus. On March 29, Asbury Church is going to take you on a journey back through history to a night – an extraordinary night….the events of that evening literally divided time. This is an event you won’t want to miss! Childcare will be provided.
Good Friday – March 30, 2018 | 6:30 PM (Asbury North)
The Friday before Easter on which the crucifixion of Jesus is remembered. Good Friday services focus upon prayer and reflection on the death of Christ and penance and special devotion for the believer. This will be a powerful night and you will have to be present to witness this worship experience. Childcare will be provided.
