What a thrill it is to share traditional worship at Asbury!

“May the word of Christ dwell within you richly, as you seek to teach and admonish each other with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with thankfulness in your hearts.”  Colossians 3:16

My family moved from Pittsburgh, PA in 1977 (Go Steelers!) and I grew up about a mile from where Leesville High School is now. (I remember the tornado).  I sang in the Raleigh Boychoir (with Pastor Jonathan!!), played and sang at Ligon Middle and Enloe High Schools, and received my music education degree from UNCG in 1991. Growing up in the Lutheran tradition, I have made music with Presbyterian, Episcopal, and Baptist congregations before leading the music at Fairmont Methodist from 2006 – 2018. Most of my career, I have also been a middle and high school band director as well.  I am a cancer thriver and a single Dad to two remarkable  teenagers.

I believe worship should be  present and perpetual, traditional and transformative, hopeful and uplifting. Most importantly, worship should encourage and call upon the many talents of our body of Christ.
