My wife Verna and I, along with our 3 children, moved to Raleigh in the summer of 1992. We joined Asbury UMC a few months later. Since then I have served as a Trustee for 3 terms or a total of 9 years. In addition, I was on the nominations committee for 1 term and I am currently on the Global Outreach committee. In 2011, I was part of the mission team that went to El Salvador to help build housing for the Fuller Center.
I have led an usher team for 20+ years. I’ve also participated in a number of workdays for the church at Habitat for Humanity and also Lynn Road School cleanup. I also support the Family Promise effort by sleeping over 1 night during their week at Asbury.
I retired from John Deere after 41 years and I started working part time as the Maintenance Supervisor in May of 2015. I love being a member of Asbury and I enjoy serving to support the needs of the church and staff.
