I’m a mountain girl at heart, having grown up in southwest Virginia – pretty much on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I married my high school sweetheart, Bobby, and we eventually relocated to Raleigh. We are now empty nesters after raising two spectacular sons.
We began attending Asbury in 2002 and knew this would be home after just one visit. People were friendly and the music was awesome – we were hooked. A year later, I joined the Asbury staff as the part-time Administrative Assistant in the Music Ministry. Less than two years later, I moved into the role of Church Business Administrator and served in that capacity for 11 years. This was a natural move for me since my degree is in Business Administration.
This is where the bio takes an unexpected turn…Asbury adopted a Small Group ministry model many years ago, and I became a volunteer LifeGroup leader. This quickly developed into a passion for me. I enjoy connecting with other people to study scripture, encourage one another and serve together. I believe we are not only meant to share life together but we’re better/stronger when we do so. But…that wasn’t my only passion – in 2013 I traveled to Haiti on my first international mission trip. This trip was transformational for me! I fell in love with the people of Haiti, their strong faith, hospitality, warmth, and vibrant resiliency. In 2016, I took an unexpected leap of faith and accepted the position of Director of Groups and Service. I love being part of a church and staff that encourages people to grow, take risks, and to work into our gifting and passion.
I’m glad you’re visiting our site and I hope to meet you soon Being that my role is to help connect you with our community, if you have questions about LifeGroups or Serving, please contact me.
