What does it take to convince you? I’m a tough sell. My truck is 19 years old and I’m in the market for a new one. Not all sales people are created equal and it is going to take a lot more than shinny paint and a new car smell to make me cough up my hard earned money. What about you? What would it take to convince you to make a deal on a new car or house? What about something much more important like our faith? This week our text is 1 John 1:1-2:2 and the author is anything but neutral and impassive. To the contrary, the author is very passionate and he is trying to convince us to change our lives, to change how we live and what we believe. The message is one of utmost importance. It is truth. It is life. It is eternity! I want you to come this weekend to our service at 930 or 11 AM and to bring with you the biggest skeptic you know. We’re going to examine the gospel story and see if it is convincing. I think it is. I think you will too. I also think your skeptic friends will find truth, purpose and ultimate meaning…and we’ll all be glad we came!
