Go Now 2019

Go Now 2019

Here at Asbury Church, we have taken a month and put our focus on completing community service projects, and we call it “Go Now”.  Our prayer is that it gets people involved, with the goal that people not only take action during the actual month of service, but all year long. This year, we are dedicating the month of February to Go Now 2019!!

Go Now is close to our hearts. There are so many people in our local community that fall short of or are without basic human needs: food, shelter and clothing. It helps that there are great organizations in our area that do help provide some of these basic needs. But these organizations cannot do it alone. You know how they always say, “It takes a village?” Well, it really does. We need your help and it’s easy to get involved, whether you give of your time, energy and expertise or provide financial support.

Did you know that more than 61 million Americans volunteer to improve conditions for people in need and to unselfishly give of themselves? On the flip-side, according to helpguide.org, volunteering “can help you reduce stress, find friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career.”  While the motivation is unselfish, it is gratifying to learn that the efforts of volunteers are returning considerable health benefits. So, don’t wait any longer, start scrolling and see how you can get involved with Go Now 2019!

And once February is over, we urge you to continue to think about our community and find ways in which you can provide ongoing or periodic support. Asbury Church will continue to provide opportunities throughout the year for you to get involved, within the church and the community. So, be sure to click here to see how else you can be of service within Asbury and subscribe to our weekly e-bulletin for the latest news and opportunities.
