Weekly Update – August 13, 2017

Week of August 13, 2017

THIS SUNDAY @ ASBURY
Sermon Preview: “Knee Deep?”
Matthew 14:22-33
Tom Newman, Lead Pastor

Fear! It will stop you in your tracks! It will rob you blind of your blessings and steal your peace while you lay awake with eyes wide open. This week we will read Matthew 14:22-33 where we find the disciples very much afraid. They were alone on the lake in a boat when a storm comes up fast and furious. People died in storms like the one they were in and they thought they might die too. If that’s not enough, an apparition appears and is moving swift towards them. What would you do? To whom would you call out? Fear causes Peter to do something very unexpected and then, when it returns, he freezes up again and almost pays the ultimate price. What price are you willing to pay for fear? What are you willing to lose to your fear? Worship this weekend where we’ll talk about fear and how to overcome fear and turn it into faith with God’s help. Be sure to invite friends, neighbors, co-workers and just about anyone else you can…they’ll be glad you did!
