Sermon Preview: “Your Part”
Romans 12:1-8
Tom Newman, Lead Pastor

The traditional calendar schools begin this Monday and it will be my oldest son’s first day of high school. It’s a new school in a new city. We’re in a new home and in a new church. There is a lot of transition and we want to fit in. It is a basic need to feel a sense of belonging and events have been planned both at church and at the Broughton High School open house we attended to help us feel like we belong. Maybe you’ve recently had an awareness of either belonging or not belonging. This week we are going to talk about how we belong in God’s Church which the Apostle Paul describes as The Body of Christ (see Romans 12:1-8). The good news is that you do belong and that God has a special part for you to play in the Church. Do you know your part? Are you living into your part? Be sure to worship this Sunday and we’ll explore together how God has designed a special part for you and me in the Church and how that just might shape the rest of our lives too. We’ll be saving a seat for you and one for the person you are inviting to come with you. You’ll both be glad you came…promise!
