ASBURY’S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CANTATA
Christmas Cantata is THIS WEEKEND
“We gather to tell the story of Emmanuel, God with us! We gather to remember this story, to wait, and watch for Him to come again – even now. Come, Lord Jesus!” This weekend, the Asbury Celebration Choir presents “Sing Joy to All the World,” a Christmas cantata with orchestration and narration. It celebrates the promise that joy comes to those who wait; that following the long dark night, the breaking of dawn brings joy for the new day. Incorporating new melodies with familiar carols in a work that ranges from contemplative to celebratory, you will not want to miss this moving musical celebration. Join us in Asbury North’s Worship Center on Saturday, December 9 at 7:00 PM and on Sunday, December 10 at 10:00 AM (a combined service).
***During both performances, we will only be offering Nursery services (birth – 3 years old) in Asbury South. Please bring your preschoolers and elementary aged children to the Cantata and let them witness this amazing performance with you.***
There will be no LiveIt! this Sunday. All families are invited to join us for this weekend’s Christmas Cantata.
Noah’s Ark Adult Class – 9:45 AM in Asbury South, Room 100
Sunday Kid’s Ministry – Nursery and Preschool
We will only have the nursery this weekend at both performances (birth – 3 year olds). First time guests can pre-register their children here.

NEWS AND NOTES
Every week, someone within our church administration (and maybe within our community) will share life nuggets with us and be a source of knowledge and inspiration through their stories! Be sure to check them out every week on our Church Blog. This week, our Director of Traditional Worship, Beth Philemon, challenges us to engage in singing, particularly to others, this holiday season. You will be further inspired to Sing Joy to All the World! and attend this year’s Christmas cantata after spending some time with Beth in her blog. Read it here!
Here at Asbury Church, attendance at our Discovering Asbury class is a requirement for membership. Our next class will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. A light dinner will be served at 6PM and all participants must RSVP. For details and to RSVP, email email@example.com. Baptism and Membership Sunday will be Sunday, January 28, 2018.
Christmas Is Not Your Birthday (CINYB) is here! Are you ready to show radical love this holiday season?
Over the past five years, our congregation has been approaching Christmas differently. We were challenged to include Jesus in our gift giving by giving as much to our outreach in Haiti as we spend on our family at Christmas. We lovingly call this initiative “Christmas Is Not Your Birthday” (CINYB) and the response has been overwhelming! Two years ago, CINYB expanded to include Backpack Buddies at Lynn Road Elementary School and Stop Hunger Now. We are ready to see what God has in store for us this year! Check out the brochure that will be distributed this Sunday or click here to learn how you can join us in showing radical love! Also, gift cards will be available at the information desks and now you can Text 2 Give at your convenience – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
Do you have someone in your life that has a Substance Use Disorder? Do you struggle with this alone? Now, you don’t have to. Join a weekly support group that will be held at Asbury Church. It’s free and all are welcome! Take a moment to register here.
