THIS SUNDAY @ ASBURY
God with Us: Jesus!
John 4: 7-21
Tom Newman, Lead Pastor
Combined Worship Service (South Building)
A remarkable thing happened that first Christmas, Jesus was born as Immanuel — which means “God with us.” And at Asbury Church we believe God is still with us, bringing hope, joy, love, and yes, peace – in all circumstances. This Christmas season, start a new tradition and join us to dive deeper into the meaning behind Christmas and learn more about God’s love for you and your family!
Join us for a Q & A session each Sunday at 5:00 PM in Room 100. Enjoy chatting about this Sunday’s sermon in a safe and informal session with Pastor Tom.

Thursdays from Jan 9 – Mar 5, 2020,
10 – 11:30 AM, Room 307-308.
An 8-week facilitated discussion for women. Facilitated by Janet Bickel. Each week we’ll discuss a topic and relate it to our everyday lives. We’ll see how New Testament scripture leads us to respond with practical applications that encourage us to lead lives that follow Christ. Topics include: Finding our Purpose; Who is the Holy Spirit; Prayer; Forgiveness; Scripture and Values; Gratitude; Getting Beyond Ourselves in the midst of busy lives. We’ll discuss these difficult topics, learn from each other, in hopes of encouraging our faith to be real and authentic. Questions? Email Janet at email@example.com.

Christmas Is Not Your Birthday
Asbury does Christmas differently. Our congregation accepted a challenge to spend as much on a gift for Jesus as we did on gifts for our families. We call it Christmas Is Not Your Birthday (CINYB). Asbury has chosen to continue this tradition by collectively contributing towards a gift to honor Jesus on His birthday. We invite your family to take the challenge and help us reach our $78,000 goal! Place a check in the offering (put CINYB in the memo line) or donate online at: asburyraleigh.org/serve/cinyb
Thank you for your generosity and support that makes such a difference at Asbury, our community and far beyond. If you would like to make a gift for 2019, it must be received or postmarked by December 31. Stock transfers are handled through the United Methodist Foundation or Wells Fargo. Or to give electronically, go to www.asburyraleigh.org/give. Please contact Paula Jones for more information.
