What to Expect

What to Expect

Welcome to Asbury!

Visiting a church can be an overwhelming experience when you don’t know what to expect. At Asbury, the first thing you should expect is a warm welcome.  One of our values is welcoming unconditionally.  We love guests and want you to feel at home. It doesn’t matter how much you know, what you wear, or whether you can sing. We’re so glad you’re planning to visit us!

Frequently Asked Questions

ARE ALL THE SERVICES IDENTICAL?

The sermons are practically identical. You’ll experience contemporary worship music if you attend at 9:30 and you’ll find traditional liturgy and hymns at the 11:00 service.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

It’s a casual environment at Asbury. You’ll find a variety of wardrobe styles any given Sunday from jeans and t-shirts to dress shirts and sport coats. We invite you to come as you are…we’ll be glad to see you!

WHERE DO MY CHILDREN GO?

We have an amazing kid’s program on Sunday mornings from birth to 5th grade. Check out the Family Ministry page for more information.

DO YOU TAKE UP AN OFFERING?

Yes, we encourage our churchgoers to be generous with their resources, however, we do not require anyone to give.  A basket will be passed during worship, but many of our folks give their tithes and offerings online or by text.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING WORSHIP?

We want your time at Asbury to be the best 60 minutes of your week. You can expect energetic music (contemporary or traditional depending on your service time), corporate prayer and Biblically-based teaching.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the service in order to check your children into the kid’s area, grab a cup of coffee and find a seat. You may pre-register your kids for faster check-in.
