Sermon: Experience Christmas
One of the greatest stories ever told is God’s covenant with His people and His plan of salvation for the world. This is the overarching theme of the Old and the New Testaments. In the seasons of Advent and Christmas we see God’s plan revealed to us in human form – the birth of Jesus. Through this birth, God fulfilled the prophecy about the Messiah.
Through this birth, God’s Kingdom came in direct contact with humankind.
Through this birth, God created a way for humankind to enter into an eternal, right relationship with Him.
Through this birth, God would change the world. What were the event around this birth? Who were the important players in this part of the story? What impact do these have for our lives and the church today? Come let us reflect on the good news of Christmas and God’s plan to save the world.
Christmas Eve At Asbury!
Here at Asbury Church, we have a place for you to worship safely this year.
Schedule for Christmas Eve:
2pm - Indoor Family Focused Traditional Worship (South Building and YouTube)
4pm - Outdoor Family Focused Worship (Between both Buildings - Feel free to bring a camp chair or blanket if you have them!)
6pm - Indoor Contemporary Worship with Full Praise Band (North Building and on the LiveStream)
8pm - Indoor Contemporary Acoustic Worship (North Building)
11pm - Indoor Traditional Worship (South Building)
For the safety of all, indoor worship services require pre-registration through Eventbrite to ensure proper distancing and capacity. Seats will be in pods by family size and masks will be required the entire time while indoors. Outdoor worship does not require pre-registration and masks are only required while directly interacting or speaking with those outside of your family.
Photo Booth for Christmas Eve
We are excited to have a photographer ready to take a family picture to remember this very different Christmas Eve! She will be in place from 5-6pm and all are invited to come and get your photo taken!
We're almost halfway there!
Asbury Church challenges our families to give a gift to God's Kingdom that matches what we spend on gifts for our families this Christmas. These donations help to fund various missions around the world. Are you ready to be a part? We already have $32,000 of our $78,000 goal!
Celebrate the Ministry of Steve Barnett
We are sad to share that Steve Barnett has chosen to retire from his role with our LiveStream at the end of 2020. He has been vital to helping us establish our LiveStream - something that became the true core and heartbeat of our church in 2020. Please help us celebrate Steve by sending or dropping off cards or gifts to the church office and tuning in to the 6pm Christmas Eve LiveStream as we celebrate him during his last official service with us.
Get Connected
Because this holiday may leave many of us alone in our homes, Pastor Jonathan is leading a short devotional and prayer time on Zoom. Join in at 1pm on Christmas Day.
